Sadie - Mid Day Host
I accidentally won a songwriting competition that I did not want to enter….because
I suffer from stage fright….I won first prize….which was playing on the
same stage as Spirit of the West in front of a LARGE number of people…a
dream for some…a nightmare for me….
a few years later, I accidentally ended up backstage at a Korn concert, for which I didn’t
even have tickets for…then I ended up on the Papa Roach tour bus turning
down a job as a roadie…you may be asking yourself why would I turn down
such a gig? Well, mostly because I had just recently accidentally landed my
first job in radio. I earned my degree in recording arts, (that part was on
purpose)….then applied everywhere that had a mixing board. A radio station
hired me…as a producer…because I absolutely under no circumstances
wanted to be on the air….well that lasted until I accidentally landed in
front of a microphone that was turned on…turns out…I completely love the
career that I accidentally wound up in.
Accidents happen and I am living proof….although I don’t know where
the pudding is…mmm…pudding…

Rob Fitzgerald - Evenings and Weekends /
Promotions Coordinator
Born just 20 mins west of Chilliwack, Rob Fitzgerald considers himself an
‘Original Wacker.’ The Sardis Secondary grad has enjoyed the sights,
sounds and smells of this great city since 1994, and wouldn’t eat corn
from anywhere else! From Cultus Lake to the Caribbean, Rob has worked as a
dj since his highschool days and it’s truly his passion. This is his first
gig in radio, and quite possibly his last… he loves Chilliwack and the
only thing better than this would be a place that never snowed. A place with
warm sunny beaches, and endless tequila shots… ok fine, you can water it
down with margarita mix.
Catch Rob swingin weekends on The NEW 89-5 The Hawk (and sometimes
weekday evenings…)

Matt Wallace - Production Director / Announcer
I make all the wonderful commercials that help you appreciate our music
so much more (and pay the bills around here).
Coming to Chilliwack from northern Alberta was a great decision! Not only
do I get a shorter winter here and awesome scenery, but when it does snow…
I become the best driver in town.

Tara Gostelow - News Reporter / Morning Show
Anchor
On the record, I love languages, current events, movies, travelling,
reading, camping, fireworks, my dog, thunderstorms, radio and television,
power outages, Hallowe'en, music and people who make me laugh. Off the
record, what you don't know won't hurt you.
In 2004, after a lacklustre three-year stretch at Douglas College I left
Canada to live in Switzerland. There I accidentally met the producer of a
radio show and he equally accidentally put me on the air. More the fool him.
I then spent another three years gallivanting around Europe, moving to
France and eventually the UK. I returned to Canada in 2008 to begin my
broadcasting career in earnest by enrolling in BCIT's Broadcast Journalism
program....and ended up at The Hawk*! (*Or, as some of my 'funny' friends
say, "The Bear" or "The Snake"... And by funny I mean
not funny at all.)
